Wood-effect vinyl flooring is sheet vinyl printed and textured to closely resemble real timber flooring, in a wide range of wood species, grain patterns, and tones. It offers the warmth and character of genuine wood while remaining fully water-resistant, scuff-resistant, and far easier to maintain.
While our wood vinyl flooring isn’t fully waterproof, it is water-resistant, making it a far more practical choice than real wood or laminate for kitchens, bathrooms, and utility rooms. We'd recommend sealing the perimeter edges with silicone sealant after fitting to prevent any water from working its way underneath at the joins.
Wood vinyl flooring gives you a very similar visual appearance to real timber at a fraction of the cost, and without the ongoing maintenance that real wood demands, such as sanding, sealing, and refinishing. It's also fully water-resistant, whereas real wood can warp, stain, or swell if exposed to moisture. The trade-off is that vinyl doesn't have quite the same tactile, natural feel as solid timber, though the visual realism in our range is excellent.
The main difference is water resistance. Wood vinyl flooring is fully water-resistant, making it suitable for kitchens, bathrooms, and anywhere spills are likely, while laminate is generally only water-resistant rather than waterproof and is better suited to drier living areas. Laminate tends to have a slightly more rigid, solid feel underfoot, while vinyl is softer, warmer, and quieter to walk on.
Yes, all of our wood-effect vinyl flooring is water-resistant, making it well-suited to kitchens, bathrooms, and utility rooms where moisture and spills are a regular occurrence. This is one of the main advantages it has over real wood or laminate flooring in these rooms.
Our wood vinyl flooring range includes a wide variety of species and finishes, including oak, walnut, beech, and more rustic, reclaimed-look designs. Both plank-style and herringbone-effect layouts are available, so whether you're after a classic linear look or a more characterful parquet-style pattern, there's an option to suit.
Yes, wood vinyl flooring is a popular choice for homes with pets thanks to its scuff and scratch resistance, water resistance, and comfortable, softer surface compared to real wood or laminate. It's much more forgiving of claws and accidents than genuine timber flooring, which can be scratched or damaged by moisture.
Our wood-effect vinyl flooring rolls are available in 2m, 3m, and 4m widths, cut to your required length. Choosing the right width for your room minimises joins and gives the cleanest, most seamless finish. We'd always recommend adding 50-70mm to your measurements to allow for trimming.
Yes, sheet vinyl is one of the most DIY-friendly flooring options available. Measure the room and add 50-70mm to each dimension for trimming, roll the vinyl out flat, cut to shape using a sharp knife and straight edge, then press into the edges and trim for a precise fit before sealing the perimeter with silicone sealant.
Yes, we offer up to six free samples from our full range, including our wood vinyl flooring options. Samples are sent directly to your home so you can check the grain, tone, and finish in your own lighting before placing an order. There's a reason wood-look vinyl flooring has become one of the most popular choices in UK homes. It delivers the warmth and character of a genuine timber floor, in a huge range of grains, tones, and plank widths, at a fraction of the cost, and without the maintenance demands or moisture sensitivity that real wood brings. Our range comes in many different styles, from parquet to oaks, beeches, walnuts, and more.
Real hardwood looks beautiful, but it's expensive, requires regular sealing and refinishing, and can warp or stain if exposed to water, which rules it out for kitchens and bathrooms altogether. Vinyl wood flooring solves this by replicating the look in a fully water-resistant, scuff-resistant material that copes easily with everyday family life. It's also considerably softer and warmer underfoot than real wood or wood-effect laminate, which makes a genuine difference in rooms where you spend a lot of time standing. Make it even cosier by using a rug to highlight the centre of a room and draw the eye.
Compared with wood-effect laminate, vinyl wood-effect flooring has the advantage of being fully waterproof rather than just water-resistant, making it the safer choice for kitchens, bathrooms, and utility rooms. Laminate, by contrast, often has a slightly more solid, rigid feel underfoot and can be a good choice for drier living areas where that matters more than moisture resistance. For most rooms in the home, particularly anywhere spills are a risk, wood vinyl flooring is the more practical option.
Our wood-effect vinyl flooring roll range is available in widths of up to four metres for a seamless, join-free fit, and if you love the look of parquet but want the comfort of a continuous sheet, our herringbone vinyl flooring range brings that classic pattern to the same practical, water-resistant material.
